Discover Bloom@Doon

At Bloom@Doon, we cultivate a passion for gardening. Our aim is to create a space where everyone—newbies and pros alike—can come together, learn, and grow. We celebrate diversity in plants and people, and that’s what makes our community special.

Bonnie Doon Community Group & Community Centre

The Bonnie Doon Community Group (BDCG) is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led organization dedicated to fostering a strong and connected community. We support local initiatives, host events, and provide essential resources to enhance the wellbeing of Bonnie Doon residents.

Established on January 13, 1999, the Bonnie Doon Community Group played a crucial role in preserving the former Bonnie Doon Primary School building after its closure. Through their efforts, the community successfully campaigned to retain the building as a community hub, leading to the opening of the Bonnie Doon Community Centre (BDCC) in 2004.

At the heart of our work is the Bonnie Doon Community Centre— a welcoming space for learning, social engagement, and community support. As a funded Neighbourhood House, BDCC offers:
• A free community library 📚
• An Op Shop supporting local projects 👕
• Social programs and workshops 🎨
• Meeting spaces for local groups 🤝

We rely on grants, fundraising, and generous volunteers to continue providing these services. Bloom@Doon is one of our major fundraising and community-building events, bringing together plant lovers, gardeners, and local businesses for a fantastic day out.

'Our History'

The roots of Bloom@Doon can be traced back to the beloved Maindample Plant Sale, which started in 2015 as a small community fundraiser. Over the years, it grew into a major annual event, attracting plant enthusiasts, gardeners, and local growers from across the region.

The plant sale became a staple in the local calendar, raising vital funds for fire safety equipment and community programs. After years of success, the opportunity arose to expand the event—and so, in 2025, we’re brought the magic of the Maindample Plant Sale to Bonnie Doon!

With a new approach, the Bloom@Doon Community Plant & Garden Market promises to be bigger, better, and more exciting than ever. Expect a day full of plant and garden vendors, expert talks, hands-on workshops, family-friendly activities, delicious food, and live entertainment.
